Central Neurocytoma on the Treatment and Outcome: Clinical Case Series Report

چکیده

Central neurocytoma (CN) is a rare and elusive tumor. The relationship between clinical outcome, tumor nature, treatment of CN remains controversial. There were eight patients in our hospital from 2014 to 2021, the prevalence accounted for 0.36% brain tumors. All them underwent surgical removal, two combined with adjuvant radiotherapy (RT). We found that four without complications had small tumors (33.0 ± 19.5 cm³), while other larger (89.8 14.2 cm³). This suggests large are prone complications. One particular patient suffered intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) caused by damage internal cerebral vein (figure 3). Regarding effect total removal (TR) subtotal (SR) on complications, CNs died IVH after TR. However, good prognosis SR. RT one who received SR atypical (MIB-1 LI 5.3%) TR recurrence. Therefore, we suggest deep-site ventricle, CNs, CNs. Clinical features due hydrocephalus subsided treatment. also review literature discuss outcomes associated Further investigation sample size warranted optimal

Case Report Central Neurocytoma : Case Report and Literature Review

Intraventricular neoplasms are readily seen on cross-sectional images, consideration of the tissue within and the clinical findings provide the means to limit the differential diagnosis when analyzing an intraventricular mass on an imaging study. Central neurocytomas are rare, slow-growing, intraventricular tumors that are of neuronal origin, typically located in the lateral ventricles, near the...

Peritoneal dissemination from central neurocytoma: case report.

OBJECTIVE Central neurocytoma is a low grade tumor of neuroglial origin and a relatively new histological entity. Only a few cases have been reported and its biological behavior is still uncertain. Some cases have shown an aggressive behavior (local recurrence, malignant dedifferentiation or CSF dissemination) and challenged the initial view of its relative benignity. A case of central neurocyt...

Pediatric central neurocytoma: Case report and review of literature

Central neurocytomas are slow-growing primary brain tumors of neuronal origin having a predilection to arise mostly in the lateral ventricles. We report a case of a 9-year-old girl who presented with headache and vomiting of 1-month duration. Her magnetic resonance imaging was suggestive of central neurocytoma of the third ventricle and was surgically managed, and tumor tissue was sent for hist...

Central neurocytoma with unusually intense FDG uptake: case report.

Central neurocytoma is a benign neuronal tumor with a favorable prognosis. This tumor is typically characterized by decreased uptake of 18F-fluorodeoxy glucose (FDG) and any increased uptake of FDG in patients suffering from this tumor would be highly unusual. A case of central neurocytoma with an intense FDG uptake, combined with atypical histopathological features and a high proliferation ind...
